Liberty University: Founded in 1971. Of the online Christian colleges, Liberty University is the world’s largest evangelical university with students from all U.S. fifty states and over seventy countries around the world. It is located in Lynchburg, Virginia and is ranked #3 in the nation of all online universities by the Online Education Database for 2008. With a population of over 35,000 students from around the world, more than 25,000 of those study online. Multiple online programs are available and a few have minimal on-campus intensives. Benedictine University: Benedictine University was founded in Chicago as St. Procopius College by the Benedictine monks of St. Procopius Abbey in 1887.
