Online electronics course requirements can usually be completed at technical colleges, vocational school, or two-year colleges. After completing an online electronics engineering degree, earning a certification in electronics or engineering technology is ideal for furthering one’s career.

The average yearly income reported by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) for a certified electronics technician is about $44,000. As of 2008, the median annual income for electrical and electronic engineering technicians was $53,240 with a range between $41,550 and $64,120.

With experience and additional training, the income for those in management positions and those who own their own business ranges from about $79,000 to $106,000. The BLS also reports that electrical and electronic engineering technicians make up 33% of all engineering technicians and that the overall employment of engineering technicians is expected to grow by 5% between 2008 and 2018.
