  • Creating learning resources for teachers, staff and students. For example web sites, interactive programs, and databases. They etc that support teachers in integrating technology. Ideally, teachers will be guided and encouraged in developing their own resources and the coordinator will support these efforts, providing additional support as needed.

To fulfill the above requirements, the educational technologist should have certain skills:

  • Understanding of key learning theories and methods of instruction and their relation to technology integration.
  • Current technology skills that include word processing, databases, spreadsheets, web-page development, presentation and multimedia development, basic web server maintenance, digital video and audio editing, image and graphics editing.
  • Knowledge of methods for integrating technology into the curriculum such as WebQuests, online resources, e-Portfolios, and assessment methods.
