Scientists from the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology have developed for the first time in the country a manned hover board capable of soaring to a maximum height of one kilometer and traveling a distance of up to 20 km, reports the People’s Daily.
Powered by five small turbojet engines controlled with one controller, the board has been designed to fly below 100 meters and carry a weight of 80 kg.
The new design is expected to be used in search and rescue, fire fighting, relief and, if necessary, in an emergency to deliver goods.
