The Mexican government plans to sell the luxury Presidential aircraft Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which was last used by the former President Enrique Pena Nieto for a trip to Buenos Aires for the G20 summit.
The airplane will fly from Mexico to an airport in San Bernardino, California, where it will be prepared for a possible buyer. The Mexican Boeing 787 Dreamliner was bought by former President Felipe Calderon’s government (2008-2012) for 218 million USD.
The new president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, who sworn in on Saturday, announced at a meeting in Xalapa, Veracruz: “We will sell all the planes and helicopters used by corrupt politicians”.
The Secretary of State for Finance, Carlos Manuel Urzua Macias, said that 60 planes and 70 government-owned helicopters will soon be sold.
