Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer and the US regional airline Republic Airways have signed a firm contract for the purchase of 100 E175 aircraft.
The firm contract is estimated at 4.69 billion USD by catalogue prices. Aircraft deliveries will begin in 2020. The contract also includes an option to purchase another 100 aircraft E175 with the right to convert into an order for E175-E2, resulting in a total potential order of up to 200 aircraft. In the case of the implementation of the contract and all options, the transaction amount will be 9.38 billion USD.
Republic Airways is the world’s largest operator of Embraer aircraft.
Republic Airways is using a fleet of Embraer 170 and Embraer 175 regional jets. It is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The Embraer E-Jet family is a series of narrow-body short- to medium-range twin-engine jet airliners, carrying 66 to 124 passengers commercially, manufactured by Brazilian aerospace manufacturer Embraer.
