Russian airlines carried 30.506 million passengers in January-April 2018, which is 12.4% more than the same period last year, reported the press service of the Federal Air Transport Agency. According to the agency statistics, the passenger turnover of airlines for the reporting period amounted to 77,562.265 million passengers km, which is 13.6% more than in the same period last year. The cargo turnover was 2,327.359 millions tons. (-1.3% compared to 2017). During the reporting period (January-April 2017), Russian airlines carried 30,506,749 passengers, which is 129.4% more than in the same period in 2017.
The volume of transported goods and mail amounted to 343,888.01 tons, which is 0.5% less than the figure of the previous year. The percentage of passenger seats occupied a mark of 80.7%, and the percentage of commercial load was 68.9%.
As for transportation for April, the Russian airlines carried 8,332,189 passengers (+12%), as well as 94,884.74 tons of cargo (+0.6%).
The five leaders in passenger transportation for January-April 2018, according to Rosaviation, are as follows: Aeroflot with 10,213,939 passengers (+6% compared to the period January-April 2017), Siberia Airlines 3,136,795 passengers (+17.8%), Russia 2,586,421 passengers (-6.7%), UTair 2,287,017 passengers (+12.5%), Ural Airlines 2,286,868 passengers (+22.2%). In all, 20,511,040 passengers were transported by leaders in January-April 2018, which is 8.1% more than in the same period in 2017 and makes up 67.2% of the total passenger traffic of Russian airlines in January-April 2018.
The leaders in the field of freight transportation are: Air Bridge Cargo, which transported 179,998.91 tons of cargo and mail (+1.7% compared to the period January-April 2017), Aeroflot 66,143.76 tons of cargo and mail (-2.5%), Siberia 10,215.9 tons of cargo and mail (-3%).
