Russian airlines served 11.8 million passengers in August 2017, which represents an increase of 15% yoy. During the reported period were transported also 91.2 thousand tons of cargo and mail, which is 10.7% yoy growth. The data is based on operational data of the Federal Air Transport Agency.
“Passenger turnover amounted to 28.5 billion passenger kilometers, which represents a growth of 14.6%. The cargo turnover reached 625.9 million ton-kilometers, which is a growth of 13%. Last month was reported growth of Aeroflot-Russian Airlines – 3.2 million passengers (+15.4%), Russia – 1.4 million passengers (+26%), S7 Airlines – 1.1 million passengers (+1.7%), Ural Airlines – 0.969 million passengers (+19.5%)”, said the Federal Air Transport Agency in its report.
In January-August, the airlines carried 70.1 million passengers, which is 19.9% more than the same period last year. Mail and cargo transportation amounted to 717.6 thousand tons, which represents an increase of 19.5% yoy.
Passenger turnover for the eight months increased by 22.2%, to 172.4 billion passenger-kilometers, while cargo turnover rose by 19.7% to 4.9 billion ton-kilometers.
