S7 Airlines, a member of the oneworld global aviation alliance, announces the receipt of the first new-generation aircraft in Russia, the Boeing 737 MAX. The aircraft will be based in Novosibirsk. Boeing 737 MAX will start flying already this week, the first to evaluate the new airliner in the S7 Airlines fleet will be passengers from Novosibirsk to Moscow and Chita.
“We always follow the most modern developments of manufacturers and actively use them to improve the service. There are 21 Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft in the airline’s fleet. The new Boeing 737 MAX, which we received today from our partners ALC, is distinguished by even greater comfort, reduced noise levels and environmental friendliness. We are pleased that our passengers will be the first in Russia to appreciate the convenience and comfort of flying on these new generation aircraft”, said general director of Globus Airlines, Vadim Klebanov.
Boeing 737 MAX 8 entered the fleet of Globus Airlines (operates under the S7 Airlines brand) directly from the manufacturer’s plant in Seattle on a lease from the leasing company Air Lease Corporation.

The new Boeing 737 MAX is the first of eleven aircraft of this type ordered by S7 Airlines. Deliveries are calculated until 2020. The aircraft is designed to carry 176 passengers – 8 in business class and 168 in economy. Modern chairs are equipped with special holders for mobile devices. A miniature three-stage stand, located at eye level, allows you to mount a tablet or smartphone on the back of the front chair. In addition, the seats are equipped with sockets with a USB connector, allowing passengers to charge gadgets during the flight.
