Saudi Arabian Airlines did not allow a man to board a plane at Jakarta airport because he was wearing shorts. Jordan Bishop, a Forbes contributor and founder of corporate flights concierge Yore Oyster, was due to fly from Jakarta to Istanbul via Riyadh with the airline. The entrepreneur said that when he approached the gate, an employee of the airline looked at him incredulously and called for the manager. He said that Bishop could not get on board in such a clothing and asked him to change clothes.
However, due to the fact that the temperature in Jakarta reached 32 degrees, the passenger did not have spare trousers with him. Then he tried to argue with the staff of the airline, but failed to prove his case: they still did not let him inside.
As a result, the man had to buy a sarong (traditional cloth wrapped around the legs like a skirt) at one of the airport’s shops and put it on himself. Only after that he managed to get on the plane.
Jordan Bishop was outraged by what had happened, since, according to him, he travels often enough, but he never came across such a thing. After the incident, the airline employees apologized to him and told him that this was happening all the time.
