The production of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ 100) will be profitable when its volume reaches 30-32 passenger aircraft and at least five business jets per year. This was stated by the president of the company Sukhoi Civil Aircraft, Alexander Rubtsov.
“If we produce 30-32 airplanes per year, and we need five more VIPs, then we will be fine”, said Alexander Rubtsov at a press conference.
The company Sukhoi Civil Aircraft is taking part in the air show BIAS-2018, which takes place in Bahrain, and brought the SSJ 100 aircraft to demonstrate it to the participants and guests.
Sukhoi Civil Aircraft is the developer and manufacturer of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft. The company was established in 2000, 100% owned by the Sukhoi aviation holding company. Its main shareholders, in turn, are the United Aircraft Building Corporation (81.9%) and Vnesheconombank (17.29%).
At the end of 2017, the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft net loss decreased by 4.7 times compared with 2016 and amounted to 6.8 billion rubles. However, in the first half of the year there was a slight increase in the loss – by 6.8% compared to the same period last year, to 3.7 billion rubles.
