Hungarian low cost carrier Wizz Air launched a new service Fare Lock, which allows the customers to lock their fare for a limited time. The carrier keeps the price for the ticket chosen by the passenger within 48 hours provided that at least seven days remain before departure. Traveling groups can also take advantage of the service. Fare Lock connects when booking on the airline’s website and costs 3 EUR. You can not make changes to the “frozen” ticket. If two days later it is not redeemed, the reservation will be canceled.
The service is available online for passengers booking one-way or return flights.
In order to finalize the booking at the price secured by Fare Lock, WIZZ customers will have to pay the full amount of the fare by credit card or using credit from MyWIZZ.
“Wizz Air is once again proving its commitment to finding innovative ways of enhancing the customer journey. The new service launched today is a great tool for taking the stress element out of the booking process, allowing customers 48 hours to finalise their purchase”, said the Chief commercial officer at Wizz Air, George Michalopoulos. “Following our recent announcement regarding the increase in free allowance of hand luggage, we continue to focus on ways to better meet our passengers’ needs”, added he.
Earlier it became known that since October 29, Wizz Air has canceled the fee for hand luggage.
